This is our first blog for Pre-k 4A. We did many things this week in Pre-k. Thank you to all the parents who came to orientation on Tuesday. It was so much fun meeting you all.
This week we learned that all things come from God. We talked about many things God made. We learned about Creation. We talked about the ocean and how God made the water and the sea shells that come from the ocean. We examined and touched many types of sea shells that Mrs. McNulty found at the beach this summer. We painted a seashell we picked out ourselves and used a special dotting paint brush. We also learned how to bless ourself and the beginning to the prayer God My Father. Here it is:
God my Father, I give you today all that I do and all that I say
I'll work hard at learning have fun and play
Jesus be with me all through the day!
Amen
We learned the rules of the classroom this week and went on a tour of our classroom. We learned how to wash our hands properly and use the bathroom.
We played on our playground and had fun! We were introduced to our centers and had center time. We played with Play-doh and colored.
We had snack and lunch and all layed down for a nap. Some of us fell asleep and others listened to soft music.
We learned a new rules song, Good morning and Goodbye song as well.
Thank you to Ethan's mom, Sloan's mom, Christian's mom and Maria's mom for volunteering to send in peeled and cut up apples. If anyone else is able please let me know. If not there will be other opportunities to volunteer. We will be making homemade applesauce on September 22 and will be tasting it Monday, September 25. This is part of our monthly cooking. If you do not want your child to have it please let me know.
Please send in the $65 activity fee if you have not already sent it in by Monday September 11. Fill out all papers that went out this week and return by Monday, September 11.
Leila is our Student of the Week next week. She has four people in her family. Her mom, dad, brother
and herself. Everyone will have a chance to be Student of the Week and also take the three ducks (Lucky, Ducky and Bucky) home with the journal.
Please practice having your child write their first name. We highlight their first names so they can trace them the proper way. This is a good way to start writing their names.
Lastly we met new friends and can't wait to come back on Monday!
God Bless,
Mrs. McNulty
