This week, we explored the letter “L.” For Morning Meeting, we all held different objects beginning with “L” and practiced making our “L” spell. We also built the letter using our playdough and sand. We introduced our Letter Journals on Friday. We colored in our cover page, and all shared words that begin with “L” to draw in our journals.
We began to explore Fall by creating our own acorns using sponges, and learning about different leaves.
We also started off our new month with Community Helper Month. We learned all about firefighters. We watched a video on all the different tasks they do and gear they wear! We dressed the firefighters on our SmartBoard too!
We began to learn our “Angel of God” prayer. We repeated it during Morning Meeting and colored the prayer to bring home to practice. We made our own angels using tissue paper.
We stomped like dinosaurs as we began to learn all about what they eat. We used all different materials to create our own dinosaurs using a plate as the body. We played a game on our SmartBoard where we sorted what the dinosaurs ate!
Squares and Ovals are the shapes of the week! We all drew our own ideas on what squares can be and traced ovals on our SmartBoard.
Thank you to Doctor Sodhi for visiting us! She is a dentist and she did a wonderful job teaching us how to take care of our teeth and we even got to brush a dinosaur’s teeth.
We celebrated the Feast of Saint Francis by having pictures of our pets or favorite animals blessed. Father prayed with us in our Saint Mary Garden and then performed a special blessing. We colored our own Saint Francis finger puppets and watched our school mass.
Thank you to Jayden for taking such good care of Smart Cookie. Smart Cookie enjoyed her time at gymnastics and going to mass with Jayden’s family.
Our “Student of the Week” was Valentino! We learned Valentino’s favorite color is blue, he loves gorillas and Curious George! Congratulations!
A very Happy Birthday to Landon! Thank you for the Pizza Party and all the other goodies, we loved to celebrate your special day with you!
