Thank you to Skyler for taking home Tilly this weekend. Did you know she took him to a soccer game and a music concert. What fun!
Catalina was our Student of the Week. She wants to be a teacher and is a big sister now!
This week we learned about how God hears us praying everywhere. We said a few classroom prayers and continue to pray the God My Father, Bless Us Our Lord, Angel of God and we learned a song Our God is So Great with hand motions and also God Made All the Animals. We are learning the song Jesus Can which is about the miracles of Jesus. We read the bible stories Moses in the River and the Burning Bush. We walked around for our first walked and saw statues of St. Francis around the campus. We learned about the colors green and yellow. We also talked about red. We looked around the room for these colors and came up with so many things. We talked about apples that are red, green and yellow. We learned about the square and sang the song: Suzy Square. We also watched a few videos on the Smartboard about the square. We used our white boards to draw squares and did an apple project made from squares. We went on a square hunt on the playground and picked up many squares. We colored square papers as well. We learned about the number 0. We practiced writing and tracing the number 0 and made rainbow zeros. We had Johnny Appleseed Day on Wednesday. We made hats, made an apple craft, tasted apples, made applesauce and tasted it on Friday. We sang Apples and Bananas with the help of the Smartboard. We learned who Johnny Appleseed was and read many apple books. We learned about the parts of any apple and found the star in the middle of the apple. We painted with apples and the star appeared on our paper. It was so cool. Try cutting an apple at home to find the star! We also played apple games. One was spooning for apples...which is like bobbing for apples. The other was an apple spoon race. What fun! We did Let's Find Out and learned how to be kind. We did several dance breaks as well! Look for a letter on Monday about homework starting the week of October 7. God Bless, Mrs. McNulty
PS Monday is Dinosaur Day. Wear some dinosaur clothes if you have any!
