Pre-K 4B explored all about Johnny Appleseed this week. We learned all about how he planted apple seeds, and watched a video on how apple tree grows. We created a Johnny Appleseed crown, and used apple stickers to count to ten. We learned to identify parts of the apple, and played a game on our Smart Board separating different apples by their color.
Our colors of the week were brown and purple. We used lego to paint purple grapes and read “Brown Bear” in the classroom. We also learned new color song this week.
We learned how Jesus watches over us, and wants us to make good choices. We all shared how we can share, and be nice to all our new friends. We also explored how to ask for help when we need it.
Pre-K also traced triangles and we created a triangle a dog. We also made triangles out of playdough and our blocks.
We worked on our fine motor skills with our lacing cards and making our letter of our first name with sad. We also put our connecting blocks together to make an “A” for apple. We also used tweezers to put our colorful pom poms in a cup.
Congratulations to Allyson who was our first “Student of the Week.” Thank you to Giancarlo and Michael who took such wonderful care of Francis. Francis attended their birthday party and had a movie night with them!
Next week’s colors are orange and black. Please incorporate them in your wardrobe on Friday, October 7th! Also, we are still looking for Community Helpers for the month of October in our classroom. Please email if you would like to schedule a visit, thank you!
Homework will begin on Wednesdays of next week (10/5), please check your child’s folder for the worksheet assignments, and return the complete sheet on the next day they attend school. There will be one sheet assigned on Mondays and one on Wednesdays. Please check in the future as some worksheets will be double sided.
*The school is closed on Monday, October 3rd as Rector’s Holiday.*
