Pre-K began working on our names! We counted all the letters in our names, and made our first letter out of playdough. We began to trace our names as well on our writing lines. We also found lines and curves in the classroom to build our letters. We introduced our Zoo Phonics Song during Morning Meeting as well.
We stomped into "Dino Week." We created slime for a dinosaurs to stomp in, and made dino bones using Q tips. We also made dino eggs using our dotters, and a T-Rex pop out of it. We also read all about what dinosaurs eat, and played a game on the SmartBoard to match the dinosaur to the good it eats. We ended our week by taking a virtual tour of the Museum of History to see al their fossils.
Pre-K also broke through ice cubes to find dinosaur fossils. We learned how ice melts and turns into a liquid. We also learned about the job of the Paleontologist, and watched how they discover fossils.
Pre-K explored the triangle shape by making it out of playdough, and finding it around our classroom. We created a triangle dog using our blocks and traced one as well.
We also ended our colors with purple and green. We sponge painted a green frog and used toothbrushes to paint a purple cat. We ended with reading "Brown Bear" and shared our favorite colors.
John had a wonderful visit with Francis. She visited Urban Air and loved going on a bike ride. Thank you for taking such great care of him.
Our "Student of the Week" was Cresilda. Her favorite color is pink and she has a birthday next month!
