Thank you to Aryanna for being our Student of the Week. Did you know she likes to play with Play-doh and loves making new friends.
Emily took Tilly the turtle home this past weekend. She went to her grandmothers and took Tilly for ice cream. What fun! Next Monday, September 23 we will have pizza for lunch for Sklyer's birthday. If your child is having the pizza you do not need a lunch. You do need a drink and a snack. We will celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day on September 25 with many fun activities! Have your child wear red, green, yellow or apple shirt/ dress if they have it. We will be making applesauce this day and tasting it on September 27. Please practice with your child at home how to fold up their napsters. We have been working on this at home. Look at our family pictures in our Pre-k house. They look great!! If you have not sent your family picture in please do by Monday so we can add it to our Pre-k house. We talked about how we can pray anywhere and we all shared our favorite place to pray. We went out to the Mary Garden and prayed. It is a beautiful place to pray. We also learned how God loves all of us. We read the Bible stories: A Great Catch of Fish, Jesus Blesses the Children and the People Welcome Jesus. We started to learn our school mission statement. Please practice at home. St. Francis Cathedral School, creates a Catholic atmosphere where children are challenged to develop respect, justice and responsibility while growing intellectually and spiritually into leaders of the 21st century. We learned about the colors orange, black and white. We colored an orange sea shell, played with orange toys and sorted orange popsicle sticks. We played a game with the colors back and white. We searched the room for orange, black and white things. We introduced the shape of the square. We read a story Suzy Square and learned the song. We went on a shape hunt to look for squares in our room. We continue to learn about dinosaurs and will go on a dinosaur hunt on September 30 where we will pretend to be paleontologists. How exciting!
