Thank you to Sullivan for being of our first Student of the Week. Please take a moment to read about him. Also, thank you to Dominic for taking Polly our class pet home. Did you know that he took Polly to the beach and went bike riding! Oh what fun!
This week we learned about the colors red, yellow and green. We found things around the classroom that were red, yellow and green. We painted this week with colors for the first time and it went well! We read stories and watched videos on red, yellow and green. We learned about circles and read a story about circles. We traced and colored circles and practiced making circles on the white board. We continued to trace our names and lines. We are learning the proper way to hold our pencil/crayons. Please help your child with this concept at home when they are writing.
Please be mindful about how much lunch you pack your child. They do have a half hour to eat but many are talking which we are trying to redirect them back to eating.
We used Play-Doh this week and it was fun!
We will celebrate Johnny Appleseed day on September 26 by learning about him and making applesauce in a crockpot. We are looking for volunteers to send a bag of peeled and cut up apples on September 26. If you are able to do this please drop me a note. Also, if you do not want your child to eat the applesauce please write me a note.
Our five day children visited the Mary Garden outside our building on Tuesday. We said a prayer to Mary and took a picture. Everyone at some point will visit the Mary Garden.
We continue to work on the sign of the cross, God My Father prayer and Bless Us Oh Lord prayer. We leanred a new song: My God is so Great!
God Bless,
Mrs. McNulty
