Happy September birthdays to Viha and Christin!
Thanks to Christin for taking home our class pets- Lucky, Ducky and Bucky. They had Christin's favorite dinner of steak and onions! Christian had so much fun with the ducks! Please take a moment to read all about Leila who was our Student of the Week.
We started jobs this week for half of the class. The other half will have a job next week.
This week we learned the colors purple and blue. We also learned about the shapes- squares and circles. We painted little squares with table toys! We blew bubbles for circles and popped them! Today was International Dot Day. We dotted pictures and made a bus with circles (dots). We learned this week that Jesus gave us friends. We read books and watched a video about how to be kind to our friends.
We painted blue circles and called them blueberries. On Thursday the children explored with water colors. We dotted on Friday and made a dot craft for International Dot Day! The children had fun painting and dotting!
We used our dry erase boards for the first time! The children will be using these alot to make letters, shapes etc. This is a tool you can use at home with your child to practice handwriting skills. They have them at the Dollar tree, Target, Walmart if you wanted to pick one up for your child to use at home.
Please make sure your child has a small stuffy or small blanket to sleep with they can leave in school for the week. If you choose a blanket please make sure it is small enpough to fold inside their napster.
We practiced a fire drill on Wednesday along with a Lock down drill and the children did a good job. We had a fire drill today and the children did very well. We will have security drills from time to time.
We are sending home Scholastic book club if you would like to order. Everything is done online. Go to scholsatic.com/bookclubs. Sign in or create an account. Connect to me by entering the class code: HG3LK. Your books will come to our class and we will give them to your child. We get points for our class and are able to get free things with the points.
We did our first Let's Find Out magazine in class online. The children enjoyed it! We answered the questions on the back page. You may want to read it again with your child and do it on the page with them. We learned abou the exciting things that we will do in school.
God Bless,
Mrs. McNulty
