Reminders-
*Looking ahead-We will be coloring Easter eggs on Monday, April 3rd. All students are asked to bring 2-3 hard-boiled eggs in a plastic container to decorate. Please do not send the eggs in before April 3rd.
*Our school Mass for the Feast of Saint Joseph is Monday, March 20th at 9 am. All are welcome to join us!
*The third marking period ends on Friday, March 22nd.
*A big thank you to everyone who donated tissues to the class! They were greatly appreciated.
This week-
Religion- This week we will learn that the Mass is divided into two parts: the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. We listen to God's Word in the Liturgy of the Word. We will have a chapter 17 test on Friday.
Math-We will continue to work on subtraction with regrouping twice, regrouping with zeros, and using addition to check subtraction.
Science-We will learn that a habitat can have different food chains and a food web shows how living things are connected. We will look at ocean and land food chains. There will be a science quiz on lessons 1-2 on Tuesday.
LA-We will finish our story, The Stories He Tells, and review skills, power words, and spelling. We will have a spelling and reading test on Wednesday. On Thursday, new spelling and power words will be given out to accompany our next story, The Drum Dream Girl.

Reminders-
*There is a dress-down day on Thursday, March 16th for Saint Patrick's Day. The colors are green and white and the cost is $1.00. Please be sure all money is in an envelope with your child's name on it.
*There is no school on Friday, March 17th for a faculty professional development day.
*Tuesday, March 14th we will celebrate Pi Day with some fun math activities!
*We are very low on tissues in 2A. Any donations to the classroom would be greatly appreciated.
*A Scholastic Book order was sent home on Friday. All orders are due by Thursday, March 16th.

*Please be sure to check Google Classroom for information on accessing Catholic Brain. This is a wonderful program that we use in the classroom and it can now be used at home.
This week-
Religion-This week we will learn why the Church celebrates the Mass on Sunday, we will examine the different roles people have in the celebration of the Mass, and explore the way the Mass begins. We will have a chapter 16 test on Thursday.
Math-We will continue to subtract 3-digit numbers while regrouping twice.
Science-We will learn that plants and animals depend on each other and their habitat to meet their needs. We will also learn how plants and animals get food in the grassland and the difference between a food chain and a food web.
LA-This week we will continue to identify the features of a biography as we read The Stories He Tells-The Story of Joseph Bruchac. We will also discuss the author's use of chronological order and text features as we read How to Make a Timeline. In grammar, we will continue to work with adjectives to make our writing more interesting and our spelling words will be r-controlled vowel words spelled er. New spelling words and power words will be given out on Monday. We will have a spelling and reading test on Wednesday, March 22nd.
