Pre-K celebrated a new month by exploring the Feast Day of Saint Francis. We read a book about Saint Francis and had our stuffed animals blessed in honor of that day. We created our own Saint Francis books, and colored a picture of him to put on our bulletin board.
For our writing lesson, we are progressing in writing our names all by ourselves. We made our name out of playdough, and practiced spelling our names by clapping the letters out. We all did a wonderful job at writing our Letter of the Week, “L” on our own too! We made “L” with sand and used cars to trace the letter. We did a wonderful job making on “L” lamp and colored the shade in different colors.
Pre-K also sang a song about rectangles and found the shape in the classroom. We traced them on our SmartBoard as well. For our colors, we put together an orange pumpkin puzzle, and created out own night sky with white crayons and black paper. Next week our colors are pink and white and you can include them in your wardrobe on Friday, October 14th.
We kicked off Community Helper Month by saying what we want to be when we grow up, and learned what firefighters do and the gear they use. We dressed up a firefighter and pretended to drive the fire truck.
For our Columbus Day Holiday, we made handprints for the boats he used and watched a video on Christopher Columbus.
Francis the Flamingo visited Olivia. Francis had so much fun having dinner and movie night with her! Thank you for taking such great care of her!
Congratulations to Danika, who was our “Student of the Week.” We discovered she loves smores and her favorite book is “Pete the Cat.”
We would like to wish Brantley a very Happy Birthday on October 8th!
*A friendly reminder that the school will be closed on Monday, October 10th for the Columbus Day Holiday.*
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless,
