Our letter of the week was “P.” We read books all about pumpkins, and created our own design to paint our pumpkins with. We also traced it on our SmartBoard, and played a letter matching game. Everyone shared one word that starts with the letter too during Morning Meeting. We also learned the “Five Little Pumpkins on a Gate” poem We created pink pigs and glued all the pieces on ourselves.
We learned all about the number two. We put two squares in our ten frame and read “Noah’s Ark” to count the animals two by two. We worked on dotting twos and made the number from our geo sticks.
We celebrated the Blue Mass at our school! We made cards to thank all the police officers and got to see them on the parade down the street. Our favorite part was to see the large American flag, and high fiving all the police officers.
For Community Helper Month, we had a visit from Mrs. Noguerawho is a second grade teacher. We learned about reading skills, and received mini chalk board to practice our letters on. We also were visited by Nurse Vicercia who explained to us about working in a hospital, and gave us rainbow band aids. Thank you all for visiting us!
Congratulations to Maeve for being Student of the Week. We learned Maeve loves art and her favorite animal is a hamster.
Paddy and his family took such wonderful care of Francis. She was dressed up as Cinderella and visited a Farmer’s Market. Thank you for taking such good care of her.
We learned a new prayer this week, “The Hail Mary.” We also worked on loving our differences and God loves us no matter what. We also rehearsed the song, “This Little Light of Mine.”
