Pre-K4B was so excited to begin all their amazing Halloween projects. We went pumpkin picking in our very own Pre-K pumpkin patch. We then used tiny sponges to create a polka dotted pumpkin. We then used black and purple watercolor paint onto coffee filters to make a bat. We used salt and glue to make a pumpkin shape and then dripped different colored dye onto it. We also looked inside a real pumpkin to see all the different parts.
We also read the “Five Little Pumpkins” book, and did a silly pumpkin dance. We also saw our STEAM video to see if pumpkins can float. Also, we learned about the different parts of the pumpkin and labeled it on the SmartBoard.
Pre-K also explored the letters “I” and “T.” We all learned about one another’s favorite ice cream flavors and favorite toys. We formed the letters using our blocks and did ABC yoga. We also worked on the letter sounds with our letter cards too!
Our number of the week was three. We did three different movements and built the three with kinetic sand. We also did a number review using our fish ten frame and making our numbers out of playdough.
Thank you to Mrs.Strauss for visiting our classroom. She owns her own dance and theatre school! She read “Giraffes Can’t Dance” and had us build a monster with our bodies. Thank you so much for the visit!
Thank you to our classroom Moms for creating a beautiful Fall pumpkin patch for us. We enjoyed picking our own pumpkins and we are very excited to share our painted pumpkins with our families.
We all enjoyed our Noah’s Ark Pop Up book. We glued and colored an ark all together and put our favorite animals into it. We also colored a book we can share with our families.
Our Student of the Week was Thomas. We learned he loves pancakes and waffles and enjoys soccer!
Thank you Benjamin for taking such good care of Smart Cookie. She loved to eat tacos and build legos!
