Pre-K explored all about squirrels. We learned about how they balance, and what they eat. We even observed the squirrels outside, and drew a picture of the ones we observed.
Our Letter of the week was “C.” We created a carrot using orange paint and found objects in our classroom beginning with “C.” We worked on tracing the letter on our SmartBoard, and sung our “Cathy Cook” song. We also learned how to make the letter “C” in sign language.
Halloween came early to Pre-K 4B as we learned a new song, “Five Little Monsters Jumping on the Bed” and labeled the parts of a pumpkin. We also saw how a pumpkin grows from a seed. We created spooky bats using a paper plates and pieces of paper. We did a great job gluing all the parts together on our own!
For Community Helper month, we had two special visitors. Mrs. Caroline, John’s Mom came to visit us, and she is an Occupational Therapist. She explained how she helps adults get better, and gave us pencil grips and brain erasers. We also had Nurse Vidro from our Preschool neighbors visit us. She taught us about where a nurse can work, and about what a nurse’s tasks are. She reviewed hand washing skills so we do not spread germs. She made us our own awesome nurse badges, and scrub hats. Thank you both so much for visiting us, we learned so much! We learned about doctors too, and we said how they keep us healthy and what tools they use to do so. We traced the word, “doctor” and colored in our own doctor picture.
We moved our bodies to our new number song, and traced the number two. We worked with putting two squares in our fish ten frames, and finding the number in a number search.
We saw pictures of our cathedral, and reviewed the prayers we have learned this year at school. We read a book about Guardian Angels as well!
*A friendly reminder that the school is closed tomorrow, Friday, October 22 for a teacher training. Also, next Friday, October 29th, there is no costumes permitted at school. We will have special treats throughout the day!*
God Bless,
