Our Letter of the Week was “H.” We read all books based on a Halloween theme during Morning Meeting each day, and built our “H” using our blocks. We also used our dotters to find all words with an H sound, and explored with helicopters during our center time.
We began the week with our number two. We put two blocks in our fish ten frames and made two out of pipe cleaners.
We also began to decorate our classroom for Halloween. We created spooky ghosts using sponges and tiny spiders with glittery webs. We also had a blast gluing tissue paper onto plates to create a monster. We used googly eyes and different shapes to make the monster’s face.
For our Community Helper, we investigated all what doctors do and how they help us. We shared what we saw at the doctor during morning share and during center time dressed up as doctors and explored with our doctor kit.
Also, we had a wonderful visit from a Police Officer. He showed us how to cross the street safely and we practiced in our Saint Mary Garden. He also read us books about what a police officer does and our favorite was exploring his police car. Thank you so much for an amazing visit.
Pre-K also worked on how to be a good friend. We learned our friendship song, and explored ways we can be kind to one another using our puppet theatre.
Thank you to Jefferson for bringing Smart Cookie home! Smart Cookie tried on Halloween costumes and celebrated Jefferson’s birthday. Smart Cookie said the cake was delicious!
Benjamin was our “Student of the Week.” We learned his favorite color is blue and he enjoys watching football! Congratulations Benjamin!
** A special thank you to all the families who made my birthday so special**
