Pre-K4B began to explore our community. We shared what we see at our Saint Francis Community and who helps at school. We read books about the police and firefighters to see how they help us everyday. We also shared during Morning Meeting how we can help each other, and what we want to be when we grow up.
We also had wonderful visits from the Dr, Sodhi, the Soltesz Family, and the Singh Family. for Community Helper Month.Thank you for sharing all your careers with us and the special treats you brought us!
Our letter we learned about was “H.” We created a hippo out of different shapes, and made our letters out of tissue paper and with pom poms too. We wrote out letters on our SmartBoard and did a search on the board as well for each letter. We also are still working on how to write our first names.
Our number we explored was 1. We worked on putting one square in our ten frame and used dotters to make it. We also traced our one, and found the one crayon that was our favorite. We also did a color review and found objects in our room that matched the color and grouped them together.
We began chatting about Halloween. We created our own candy corn decorations using ripped up paper and made a pattern with them. We also began reciting “Five Little Pumpkins on a Gate.” We then counted to the number five and created our own pumpkins on a gate. We glued our wooden sticks together to make a gate and then counted five pumpkins to put on the gate!
Our “Student of the Week” is John. His favorite color is blue and he loves riding his bike. Congratulations John!
Thank you Maya R. for bringing home Francis over the weekend. Francis took some Halloween pictures and even got to pick out some pumpkins. Thank you for taking such great care of her!
