Thank you to Drea for bringing home Tilly. Did you know Drea took her to Pump It Up for a birthday party with her brother and won 3 stuffies!
Leo was our Student of the Week. He showed us a Portuguese dance move and can speak and understand Portuguese!
This week we learned about the letter Nn. We learned about the sound it makes, how to write it and talked about words that begin with the letter. We had small groups where we made N's from straw pieces, dotted a necklace and use our rice boards to make the letter Nn. We made Nn's on our white boards, traced, read a story, watched videos with songs and made the numbers from our kinetic sand boxes. We reviewed the numbers from 1-5. Please ask your child to write the numbers at home. We went over them this week and sat with them in small groups to help them write the numbers the correct way. There are a few that are still having trouble writing the numbers. We learned about three Saints this week and facts about each one. The first was St. Anthony who is the finder of lost things. Here is a prayer about him: St. Anthony St Anthony please come around. Something has been lost and must be found. The second Saint is St. Cecilia who loved Music. We danced with Music scarves to Music for St. Cecilia. We colored a picture of St. Cecilia and it is on the blog. The third Saint was Saint Mary our Blessed Mother. We learned she was the mother of Jesus. We learned to pray to Mary and she will always listen to us. We learned a new Thanksgiving Prayer. Thank you for the world so sweet, Thank you for the food we eat, Thank you for the birds that sing, Thank you God for everything. Amen. We learned a new Turkey finger play: Mr. and Mrs. Turkey and a new song Albuquerque Turkey. At the end of the song they eat Mac and cheese instead of turkey. This month we will be cooking mac and cheese for our Thanksgiving Feast. We will be dressing up as Native Americans and Pilgrims and learn about the First Thanksgiving. Thank you to all the parents who helped with the turkey feathers. Our turkey looks great! Wednesday was such a nice day we had snack outside! See picture on the blog. God Bless, Mrs. McNulty
