Pre-K4B began the week with learning about the number four. We put pom poms on our fours, and used our SmartBoard to put it in our ten frames. We also counted out four of our colorful bears using our dotters.
We also began talking about our next holiday, “Thanksgiving.” We learned a Thanksgiving celebration song, and shared what food we like best at Thanksgiving dinner. We also read “Dinos Thanksgiving.” We even learned a turkey dance. We also created our own pumpkin pie using construction paper and cotton balls.
We began to explore hibernation and how some animals sleep during the winter. We connected the dots by numbers to create a sleeping bear, and also used our SmartBoard to find what animals hibernate. We found them sleeping all over the woods, and we named what food we would store for winter.
The Letter of the Week was “B.” We read a book on how to share bananas and created our very own bumble using and drew the stripes on all by ourselves. We traced Bs and colored a bible verse. We also worked on our phonics with a new song, “Car Phonics” to help us learn our letter sounds.
Pre-K 4B recited a new prayer about Thanksgiving. We shared what we are grateful for during Morning Meeting, and how we can prayer to show we are grateful to God. We also read a pop up book about “Noah’s Ark.” We created our own books to share at home, and explored matching animals to put on the ark two by two.
For Veteran’s Day, we all watched a video on the armed services and all the different jobs they do. We also colored the American flag by numbers.
Congratulations to Brantley for being the Student of the Week. We learned that he loves eggs and Sonic!
Francis the Flamingo had a blast with Xavier. She attended a movie night and cooked dinner with the family. Thank you for taking such good care of her!
God Bless,
