Pre-K4B had such a wonderful week back from Thanksgiving break. We began the Advent season by decorating our own Advent wreaths to hang from our desks. We also learned that Advent is to welcome the birth of Jesus and we started our Advent Calendar. We have one good deed/task to complete every day.
The Letter of the Week was R. We learned about rainbows and created our own rainbows. We also loved the “Five Little Reindeer Dance.” We traced the letter on our SmartBoard, and made the letter in sand. We shaped the letter out of red pom poms too!
We worked so hard putting 6 in our ten frames and made the number out of playdough. We watched the Count from Sesame Street count with us and stomped with us six times. We used 6 marshmallow to put in our pretend coco and formed the number with them too! We also worked on created a color pattern with our animal figures.
Pre-K4B got in the holiday spirit by placing ornaments on our tree and wreaths for our door. We even used hot coco scented paint for our mug art project. We placed cotton ball whip cream on top! We also set up our nativity with our nativity read along books. We even now have a special visitor in the room. “Pete the Polar Bear.” Pete is a very special friend of Santa Claus and will be checking in on us throughout the month to see if we are kind, helpful, and try our best at school. We colored pictures of him to welcome him to our classroom.
We began to learn more about family traditions, and watched how there are all different traditions for the holidays around the world. We shared during morning meeting what are traditions we have, and what we would like to have in our classroom.
Congratulations to Giancarlo for being Student of the Week! We learned he loves pizza with cheese only, and his favorite book is “The Little Blue Truck.”
