Pre-K had another wonderful week of learning all about Thanksgiving. With Pete the Cats help, we learned all about the first Thanksgiving. He read to us different stories about the first Thanksgiving. Also, we colored our own book about the first Thanksgiving we can share with our families. We also worked on our new Thanksgiving prayer, and created our classroom’s favorite vegetable corn. We glued cheerios onto yellow paper to make corn!
We learned a Turkey dance, and created our own turkeys using tissue paper as it’s feathers. We also created our own placemats to share at Thanksgiving dinner.
We explored the number 6 this week. We counted our colorful animals and put six squares in our fish ten frames. We also made our mac and cheese using orange and yellow playdough and counting noodles in it.
Also, this week we began to learn to use scissors. We worked on gripping them and began to cut construction paper with them.
The letters we learned about this week were “O” and “Q.” We used Q-tips and paints to color in an uppercase “Q.” We also learned about different octopi that live in our oceans. We enjoyed visiting our different writing centers where we made our letters out of legos, sand, and pipe cleaners.
Thank you to Emersyn’ Mom for visiting us this week. She owns a wonderful dance studio and shared her love of dance with us. She even taught us a fun dance to the “Barbie” movie song!
We read the “Creation” story and learned a song about it as well. We colored our own books and worked on sounding out our letters to read them all together. We also drew our own pictures of our favorite part God created.
Thank you to Emersyn and her family for taking care of Francis. Francis helped bake a huge cookie cake, and loved going to the playground.
We would like to wish Eva the best of luck as she is moving. We loved having you in our classroom, and thank you for learning and growing with us. We will miss you!
