We began our week by learning about Veteran’s Day. We watched our Let’s Find Out video, and then decorated cards to thank you veterans. We also experienced Picture Day as a class together and had great listening ears.
Pre-K enjoyed learning about the pilgrims and our Turkey Day song. We created our own turkey using doilies and dotters as the feathers. We also drew our families around the Thanksgiving table and shared what we like to eat during Thanksgiving dinner. We also finished up our leaf wreaths.
Our letters of the week were P and U. We colored and decorated pencils and had pancakes for snack. We also created a U with our kinetic sand. We worked on forming the letters with legos too! We did a great job finding different words with the P sound for our letter journals. We began putting our letter sounds together with our CVC word puzzle too!
The number of the week was six. We put blocks in our ten frames for the number six, and dotted the number six. We also began learning our left and right. We sang a song to learn about each hand.
Thank you to Father Christy for visiting our classroom this week. He explained God is all around us and how he loves us. He also gave us a blessing!
Pre-K explored the bible story about Creation. We colored our own books about it to share with our families, and enjoyed our creation playdough mats as we re-created the story. We also found our creation poster in the classroom, and read it during Morning Meeting. We also continued to recite our “Hail Mary” prayer.
We also checked in our pumpkin Jack! We observed little white spots on our pumpkin, and white fuzzies. We will keep checking if we see any changes!
Our Student of the Week was Maeve! Maeve loves Taylor Swift and her favorite color is rainbow. She enjoys center time at school.
Ryan brought home Smart Cookie for a visit! He went to soccer with Ryan and learned how to make pancakes. Thank you for a wonderful visit.
