Pre-K4B used their writing skills with the Letter of the Week “A.” We learned a new song, “Apple Annie” to work on the letter sound. We also created “A” alligators, and matched “A” words on our SmartBoard. We also worked on writing our names on the writing line all by ourselves.
During Morning Meeting, we learned a new song and dance to “This Little Light of Mine.” We also used our SmartBoard to sort flowers by colors! We did fantastic saying the color aloud, and then matching it. We began reading books about Thanksgiving, and named our favorite Thanksgiving foods. We began learned a Thanksgiving song as well!
Pre-K4B was introduced to the concept of an invention. We read, “The Boy who Invented a Popsicle” and named some inventions we have right in our very own classroom and how they help us every day!
We explored about the Coast Guard. We learned they use a helicopter for water rescues, and created our very own Veteran Day Poster. We even watched a video on a water rescue, and said how it would feel to rescue someone. We also followed all the “Hs” and connected them to help the helicopter fly to the rescue.
Pre-K4B has a number review from 0 through 3. We traced them, and used our ten frame to put the number of blocks in. We also learned a new song about tracing numbers and shapes. We made the numbers out of playdough by rolling them on our own, and using our fine motor skills to shape them.
We welcomed our new class fish to the room. We read about fish care, and observed our new friend. We all voted to the name the fish is Goldie. We also drew a picture of Goldie to show her, and did a great job taking turns to feed her.
We learned all about Saint Francis Cathedral. We saw pictures of it being built, and took a virtually tour of the cathedral. We colored in our own churches too. We celebrated “All Saints Day” on Monday by reading about Saint Francis, and discussed how we can be like Saints. We said to be kind and help people. We did a prayer review, and recited all our prayers slowly and respectfully.
*A friendly reminder, Progress Reports were sent home on Friday, November 5th in their folders. Please return the first sheet signed back to the classroom, if you have any questions, please email.*
