I hope everyone had a Blessed Easter and wonderful break!
This week we learned about the church. We learned about a priest and what he wears. We learned that the priest is the head of the church. We also learned about Baptism and the Pope and how important he is. Please make sure your child has a pair of rosary beads they can leave in school for the rest of the year. I will teach them how to pray the Rosary. We will pray one decade of the Rosary daily. We will start May Crownings on Monday. It is such a BEAUTIFUL time of the year...the Month Of Mary!
Muffins with Mommy is coming so quickly. If you can not make it please let me know so I can put your child with another child who can "share" their mom. You may also send a Grandma or Godmother in your place. No siblings are allowed. The program will be about 45 minutes to an hour.
This week we learned about the letter Zz which we will continue next week because we are doing so much this week. We also learned about sequencing and we are growning butterflies! Our crabs are back as well! So many exciting things going on in Pre-k! Next week's high frequency words are: my,by. Please put all words on flash cards and use them over the summer: These are the words so far: I,a,the, see, to.
After this week Show n' tell will be your child's choice as long as it fits in their backpacks. The children usually have fun with this. Thanks to all the parents who consistently sent in Show n' Tell throughout the year!
Thank you to Christopher's mom, R.J.'s mom, Maeve's dad, Bella's dad and Cade's mom for being our Mystery Readers this week. I will post Bell's dad next week. Thank you all who took the time to visit our class and read!
We had a BLAST with Mr. Ray on Wednesday with the concert he gave. The children had sooo much fun singing and dancing!!! Thank you to Mr. Ray! This will wrap up our Month of the Young Child.
There is no school May 27. The announcement from Mrs. Major was in the Family Envelope.

We learned about Mary this week and prayed the rosary daily. We had individual May Crownings in our classroom. It is such a beautiful thing to watch!! WE learned about St. Dominic and Our Lady of Lourdes. We learned about big, small, lighter and heavier. We also reviewed beginning sounds. We learned about Earth day and each of our caterpillars turned to a chrysalis! We put them in our big net. We will wait until they become butterflies. We also built our own habitat. How exciting!
