Thank you to Devin for taking home Everlee. Did you know he showed Everlee flowers outside while they took a walk in his neighborhood! What fun! This week we learned about the Conclave and the different positions in the church- Pope, Cardinals, Arch Bishops, Bishops, Priests and Deacons. We watched the white smoke on Thursday and continued to watch until the new pope came out. With great joy, we welcome Pope Leo XIV as the new Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church! God Bless him! We watched history happen on Thursday by watching the white smoke and saw our new Pope Leo XIV. They all clapped when they saw the white smoke and Pope Leo walk out on the balcony. I am sure your children will remember they were in Prek when he was elected! This week we learned about Our Lady of Fatima and the three children Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia who she appeared to. The children were fascinated! We finally finished all the letters of the alphabet and had our QU wedding on Monday. Aryanna spread flower pedals down the red carpet isle while Skyler carried beautiful flowers down the aisle. Then came Liza Miss Q and Rocco Mr. U down the aisle to the wedding march. Liza had a white wedding dress with a vail and Rocco had a suit with a bow tie and top hat! The other boys and girls wore sunglasses and played the parts of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Ms. Dalton officiated the wedding and the children participated by repeating Q and U words Ms. Dalton read. Then it was time for Q and U to take their vows and always have U follow the letter Q. Once they did everyone clapped and they walked back down the aisle to the song Celebration. We then all danced, opened wedding gifts (our show n' tells), received a wedding favor and had a piece of the wedding cake. It was a GREAT TIME! I am sure your children will remember every q word is always followed by the letter u. We reviewed all our letters and sounds they make and are ready to blend sounds together to make words. In Math we learned position and one-to-one correspondence. Please practice left to right with your child at home. Our caterpillars are getting so big. How exciting!!!! Soon they will become a chrysalis. We did several projects with butterflies and watched them everyday. We had a BEAUTIFUL day on Wednesday Muffins with Mommy. The moms enjoyed muffins and ice tea while the children had juice boxes and muffins. Then the moms were treated to a show and a May crowning. The children did an awesome job with our program singing so nicely! Thank you all for coming! A special thanks to Sister Mary Louise Shula who is the Curriculum Coordinator for the Diocese of Metuchen. She enjoyed herself and could not believe the children knew so may prayers, songs and could even dance! I also was so surprised when my daughter showed up with my granddaughter Everlee to help us celebrate this beautiful day! On Thursday we walked over to the big school to give the office staff a Mary statue and a blessed Mary medal for Mother's day. They were excited to see us! God Bless, Mrs. McNulty
