This week we celebrated friendship. During Morning Meeting, we all said kind words and compliments we can share with a friend. We created friendship sentences, and colored our own books on kindness. We also sang, “Jesus Can” and read that Jesus is our friend too.
We finished up our last letter “Z” by creating zebras. We drew the lines on our own. We began learning our sight words the and a. We traced them and found them on a word search on our Smart Board. We found the new sight words in books as well, we also filled them into sentences.
For Math, we worked on charting and graphing. We used shapes that we saw and counted how many were there and then wrote that number on our chart. We also worked on adding one to our numbers, and sang a song about addition.
We also learned all about trees. We discovered how trees our planted. We also reviewed parts of a plant. We painted out own butterfly habitat and decided it would be blue. We listed all the things butterflies need to live. We released our butterflies as well this week. Our Fifth grade buddies stopped by to help us release them. We learned that butterflies eat with their feet and love fruit.
Pre-K had a special treat and watched our middle school perform different musical numbers. We were such a good audience.
We wished Mia a very Happy Birthday on May 10th!
Please join us for “Donuts with Daddy” in our cafeteria on Wednesday, May 18th at 9:30 am.
