Pre-K4B welcomed the caterpillars to our classroom. We are voting on their names and have been watching them eat. We learned all about the life cycle of a butterfly. We cut and pasted the different parts and created a watercolor butterfly.
We also learned more about Mary. We crowned Mary in the afternoon, and drew our own flowers for Mary. We also made Mary puppets with colorful flower crowns. We introduced what a rosary is and placed them on our prayer table.
We had a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration. We enjoyed singing for our Mothers and loved to serve them ice tea and muffins. We also made special jewelry boxes for them and a beautiful muffin card!
Pre-K continued to work on our letter blends. We learned about the “Fl” blend and played a matching game on our SmartBoard to match the picture to the blend. We also practiced all our letter sounds and reviewed how to write our letters.
We also work on our addition skills. We used a number line to help us add and had our frogs jump on our number line. We also reviewed shapes with shape BINGO.
We introduced our under the sea animals. We learned all about an octopus. We created an octopus where we matched its tentacles to the correct number. We also read about how an octopus grows and what they eat.
We wish everyone a very Happy Mother’s Day!
