Pre-K began our week with a very green Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration. We learned about how shamrocks grow and used shamrock cookie cutters as stamps. We also read about Saint Patrick and created our own puppet. We also learned a new song,“Five Little Shamrocks” and finally caught our Leprechaun, Lucky. We trapped him with Lucky Charms!
We learned a song about vowels to help us with our vowel sounds. We also on the SmartBoard worked on spelling our CVC words. We also made CVC words out of playdough to help us with our reading skills.
On Wednesday, we celebrated Saint Joseph’s Day! We had a carpenter center and colored our own book that we read in class. We also learned our Saint Joseph’s prayer, and had a special intention for our fathers.
Our Number of the week was 18! We formed the number out of playdough and kinetic sand. We also worked on our counting with our fish puzzle that we traced and put the numbers 1-20 in order. In addition, we began learning about when colors mix together. We used our paint and made guesses to see what new color it would become.
Pre-K began learning our new Easter prayer, and we began reading Jesus’ story for Lent. We also used dotters for our butterfly creations. Also, we used our fine motor skills to glue tissue paper in the shape of a bunny.
We welcomed Spring with a Spring Tea party with lemonade and fancy hats. We looked at how our weather changes in spring, and painted our own flowers. We picked out our own colors for the petals!
