MARCH SPORT:
Students will utilize the skills from last month to start playing lacrosse. After two weeks of playing games, we will have our version of an "Olympics" game to determine which team will take home gold, silver, or bronze! Encourage your child to watch the Paralympics, starting this week!
MARCH MONTHLY CHALLENGE:
1 FOOT REACHES AND CRAB KICKS:
For 1 foot reaches, students lift their left leg and touch the floor with their right hand. Then they lift their right foot and touch the floor with their left hand. This counts as a set of one. Students in grades K-2 do a set of 5; students in grades 3-8 do a set of 10. This is a great exercise to improve balance, which is important as we get older.
For crab kicks, students sit on the floor with their arms behind them, stomach out and butt off the floor. Raising their left leg, they touch their left foot with their right hand. Then the right leg is raised, and they touch their right foot with their left hand. Students in grades K-2 do a set of 5, while those in grades 3-8 do a set of 10. Continue to encourage your child to exercise on a daily basis! Make it a family affair for Lent!
