WEEK of OCTOBER 14th Classroom Lessons; SCIENCE; Fall activities and Safety/ what makes Pumpkins grow?/ SOCIAL STUDIES; appreciate the beauty of this Season-- what changes take place in Autumn--what family activities do we share with our family and friends// RELIGION; we'll continue celebrating the goodness of God in creation/ recall holiday family traditions/ learn about the Church year// MATH; learning number words/ recognize numbers and making sets using manipulatives/ counting on to reach the higher number/ matching sets with correct numbers from 0 to 5 and writing the numbers by following directions and the lines// LANGUAGE ARTS; recognize the actions of the characters/ recalling the setting of the story/ reviewing how many syllables are in a word/ learning the difference between antonyms and synonyms/ identifying vowels in words/ recognizing beginning letters and their sounds/ reviewing sight words my, by, to, this week words are -at, go, am, {good practice each night to review}/ We have been reading Halloween stories, singing songs, and reciting poems----excitement is building up for October 31st!! REMINDERS; Parents Please, check and review homework skills; make sure correct uniform is worn everyday to school; read stories daily with discussions building vocabulary; talk with your daughter/son about being kind, polite, and always co operate; Rudy Raccoon is on another family adventure!
