Happy January birthdays to Thenuka and Gianna!
This week we learned about the Epiphany and talked about things that are right and wrong. We acted out what happened at the Epiphany today. We read a book about rules and went over the rules of the classroom for the New Year. We learned about the letter Nn and the number 10. We read a letter Nn story, watched some N videos and sang Nn songs, wrote on our white boards with markers to practice the letter Nn and traced the letter Nn. We counted to 10, sang number 10 songs, counted on a numberline to 10 and practiced writing with our white boards as well. Show n' tell will be something that begins with the letter Mm next week.
We learned about penguins this week and we tried to walk like penguins!!! We read many stories, watched a few videos and did some penguin dances! We also made penguin projects! We learned penguins can not fly and they waddle. We learned other facts as well.
We are also learning how to write last names in Pre-k.
We are almost finished with our second class book! It will start to circulate soon. Please read it at home, take a minute to write a comment about the book and return it the next day your child comes to school.
I will be sending a conference slip home on Monday to sign up if you would like to meet with me. If you are a three day parent and would like to send a time in through email that is fine instead of waiting until Wednesday to send the form back.
I will be testing the children this month again and sending home an assessment. I will be testing them on letters, numbers and various concepts taught at school. Please continue to reinforce all concepts taught. 
Just a reminder the homework is two sided. Please let me know if you are having any problems with your child doing homework.
