Pre-K began learning about Valentine’s Day! We learned a Valentine Day song and heart dance. We created Hershey Kisses using silver tissue paper and a heart using ripped paper. We also decorated our classroom door with hearts! We created a Valentine’s Day puppy using plates and hearts for its ears and nose.
We learned all about groundhogs, and we all learned there will be six more weeks of winter. We painted a groundhog puppet too! We also learned the life cycle of a groundhog and what they eat.
We worked on our phonics this week! We sang a new phonics song and everyday sounded our CVC words during Morning Meeting. We also did a great job working on identifying first letter sounds. We also worked very hard on tracing our last names. We also worked on our journals to make sure we did not miss any letters!
Our number was twelve. We placed twelve sparkles onto snowflakes, and put them on our ten frames. We traced in our sand and did a number review making our numbers out of playdough.
Pre-K read “Where is God” and shared how we can talk and see God. We also began to learn our Valentine’s Day prayer.
Pre-K has loved all the new songs we have been learning. We are learning “God Bless America” and a Valentine's Day song too!
To end our week, Pre-K designed their own football jerseys to celebrate the Super Bowl this weekend. We used dotters and stickers to create them.
