Pre-K had a blast celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday. We had a special treat, and made our own truffle trees by using forks and colorful plates. We also made our own Fox using tissue paper. We read “Cat in the Hat” and then used our Smart Board to count different hats to practice our numbers and counting. We also had so much fun in our silly outfits. Our Fifth Grade buddies came in for a visit as well. They read us some of our favorite Dr. Seuss’ books to us.
We had a so much fun on Tuesday when we saw our first snow together. We painted snow, and mixed baking soda with the snow and made it fizzy with vinegar.
Our Letter of the Week was “G.” We built our “G” out of blocks and drew our own gardens. We created our own bunches of grapes out of the letter, and told Goldie, our goldfish, she began with the letter “G.” We mixed yellow and blue paint to make green.
Our Number of the Week was “14.” We stomped, jumped and clapped 14 times during Morning Meeting, and used our dotters to dot out the number. We practiced writing the number on our Smartboard as well.
We read about Saint Patrick’s Day, and had a very special visitor to the classroom, “Lucky the Leprechaun.” We also drew what we are lucky for in a shamrock. We created our own Leprechaun by gluing orange paper on a plate for his beard and colored our own hats.
We learned about how God wants us to make good choices, and spoke about all the good choices we can make at school and home.
Francis had a wonderful visit with Camila! She got to go to an Encanto Party, and visit our cathedral for Camila’s sister, Valentina for her First Penance. Thank you for taking such great care of her.
