Happy March birthday to Scarlett!
This picture is from last Friday when we made a volcano erupt for the letter V. The children were amazed!
This week we learned a little about the season of Lent. This is our new Lent prayer:
Dear Lord,
We know Lent is a time to do loving things. Please help us to follow in your footsteps as we get ready for this season of Lent.
Amen
We learned about Ash Wednesday and recieved ashes from Father Jay. A Lenten Star Chart was given out on Ash Wednesday. It is a chart where the children can go through Lent doing good deeds. Since Lent is a time to do loving things that is what the chart is all about. It is a Lenten journey for children. Please keep the chart handy perhaps on your fridge. Each loving thing your child does have them color that star. I did put help shovel but we may not get snow. Please substitute another good deed in its place. Have fun helping your child go through their own Lenten journey.
WE read the bible story- Daniel and the Lion's Den and colored a booklet.
We learned about the letter Ww (which was easy for us since we just did the letter Vv). We also learned about the number 14. We practiced both on our white boards. We traced, colored and even learned sign language for the letter W. We learned about the walrus for the letter W. We painted with water colors for the letter W as well. We counted to 14 with tally marks, on dominos, dice, number line, 5 frame and ten frames.
Wednesday is Dr. Seuss Day in Pre-k. We will have green eggs and ham. If you do not want your child to have them please write a note. Also, it will be silly day. Wear a Dr.Seuss shirt, dress, hat, silly socks etc. We will be doing fun activities that day!
God Bless,
Mrs. McNulty
