Pre-K4B celebrated Ash Wednesday by receiving ashes and began to read about Lent. We said Lent is a time before Easter to think of how we can be a better person. We have a chart at school, and will have one kind task to complete every day. We also colored our own book on Ash Wednesday.
Our Letter of the Week was “V.” We created our own volcanos using paint. We mixed baking soda with our paint and used droppers of vinegar to watch our volcano erupt! We the played letter freeze dance game too. We also made a vase from “V” and built the letter with our blocks. We also learned how to make a “V” in sign language.
We learned all about the Dentist this week. We did a tooth dance to start off our week! We learned what our healthy choices for our teeth and how to brush. We charted what are good choices to eat and painted with toothbrushes and create beautiful flowers.
Our numbers of the week was “13.” We made it out of playdough and used our poms poms too. We stomped with the Count from Sesame Street 13 times, and wrote 13 on our number line. We also used our number line to see what comes before and after the number.
We explored what makes a rainbow and did a rainbow recipe of sun and water. When talking about rainbows, we said next week we will have a special leprechaun visitor to our classroom. We set up a house for him using grass and jewels.
Francis visited with Xavier this weekend! Francis had a wonderful movie night and had a special trip to the Museum of Natural History.
*Next week, on Wednesday, March 1st, we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Your child can wear silly socks, shirt, or hats into school.
*We are accepting donations from our Leprechaun visitor (pencils, erasers, stickers), and we have 15 students.
Thank you & God Bless,
