Pre-K 4B had a special visit from Saint Nicholas this week. He filled their shoes with special treats! We read a book about Saint Nicholas and colored a picture of him too. We sang “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas” as well! We continued with our Advent Calendar and learning about one new task to help others. We also visited the outside nativity in front of the cathedral.
Our Letter of the Week was “O.” We made beautiful “O” ornament we decorated. We also created our own snow person using an “O” shaped sponge. We also named objects in the classroom that begin with that letter, and traced it on our Smartboard.
We learned all about the number 7 as well. We said we have seven days of week, and seven colors in our rainbow. We dotted the number the seven and made it out of play dough. We also used our gingerbread people to learn in front, middle and behind.
We also learned about the Annunciation. We watched a short movie and Mary and Angel, Gabriel. We created an angel using our handprints and made a wreath with Mary and Gabriel that we painted.
We began learning about different traditions we have. We learned that Hannah and Olivia’s family bake gingerbread houses. We watched how the holidays are celebrated around the world.
Our Student of the Week was Michael. We learned that he loves the color green and Paw Patrol. He also enjoys numbers and letters at school.
Francis spent the weekend with Maeve! Francis enjoyed decorating the tree and wrote a letter to Santa. Thank you for taking such good care of her.
*A friendly reminder that Christmas Cards can be brought into the classroom, we have 13 students. Also, that one large Christmas bag labeled needs to be brought in as a mailbox.
*December 14th- Christmas Exchange books are due.
*December 16th- Christmas PJ day and bring your favorite stuffed animal to school.
God Bless,
