Pre-K4B was so excited to return from Spring Break! We began our week with learning a new math topic. We began to learn about addition. We put together our plus sign using playdough and used our animals to begin to add. We also practiced writing all the numbers we have learned.
On Monday, we celebrated our SFCS Administrators by making cards for them, and walking to the “big school” to hand them out!
Pre-K also learned about letter blends. We learned how the bl and cl blends sound. We shared words that we hear them with, and completed a picture word match on our SmartBoard. We also practiced writing our last names.
We began to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly as well. We watched how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly and worked together to complete a butterfly life cycle puzzle. We then used our cutting skills to put the cycle in order on a butterfly template. Pre-K also explored parts of the butterfly by making it out of playdough and identifying the parts.
We shared during Morning Meeting all the new things we will celebrate in May. May honors our Blessed Mother, so we recited our “Hail Mary” prayer, and looked at the rosary beads on our prayer table. We used our coloring skills to create a rose crown for our Mary pictures. We also had our first crowning of Mary on our prayer table in the afternoon.
