Happy December birthdays to Ella and Mrs. McNulty!
This past Monday we went to see the Advent wreath in SF cathedral church. The children could not believe the size of the wreath compared to ours in the classroom. We looked at the stained glass windows and the children thought they were beautiful!
We learned a new prayer for Advent you can say at home during the Advent season. We lit one candle on our wreath and will continue to light a candle every week until four candles are lite. We learned that Advent means a time of waiting for Jesus, the child to be born. We have been singing many religious songs for the Christmas season.
We learned about the number six and the letter Dd. Please continue to practice all concepts taught at school.
We will be sending home grandparent gifts early next week in case you need to mail them far away. The day of the Christmas concert we will send home parent Christmas presents. Please send me a note if you are going away that week.
A calendar went home Wednesday about the activities in Pre-k for the month of December. One more activity we will be participating in is the Advent Giving Tree. Please see the flyer that went home today with your child.
The school is having a Santa's workshop next week. If you would like your child to shop please send in money or a blank check with a list of people who you want your child to shop for. December 5 is the only day for the three day children to shop and December 8 will be the only day for the five day children to shop.
Advent Prayer
Thank you God for sending Jesus to be with us. Help us love each other as we get ready for Jesus' birthday.
Amen
God Bless,
Mrs. McNulty
