**********No school Friday, November 3 due to a Pastor's Holiday**************
Thank you to Sloan for being the Student of the Week. Did you know she wants to be a queen when she grows up. Please take a moment to read about her information.
This week during our Halloween celebration we walked over and meet our 5th grade buddies. We will be doing things with them this year from time to time. They colored a picture for us and we colored a pumpkin picture for them. We also walked through several other classrooms to show off our Halloween costumes and walked through the office so everyone there could see how great we looked!
We learned about the letter Nn and number 5. We traced, wrote in our journals, used our white boards and rice bowls as well to practice the letter and number. We counted things and named things that begin with the letter Nn. We also used pretend cans of soup and pictures to review our letters we learned which are: Ll, Tt, Ii, Nn, Hh. Please review these letters as well as the numbers we learned. (0-5).
We learned about All Saints day and watched a video about it. We colored a picture for All Saints Day and put them up on a bulletin board. We will be learning many new Saints this month!
We finished a book the children wrote and illustrated. It is about occupations. Please take time with your child when the book comes to your house to read it with your child and make a comment on the author/illustrator page.
We learned a new Thanksgiving poem about a turkey and even starting singing Christmas songs!
I am asking if your child has a blanket to please make sure it is not bigger than a receiving blanket. There is not enough room to store a blanket bigger than this size in the cubbies (even if it is wrapped up tightly). Since the heat has been turned on the children do not need a heavier blanket than a receiving blanket plus this will make it alot easier to store for us. Next week I will be sending blankets home if they are too big. Thank you for your help in this matter.
We do not have conferences as listed on the calendar in November. These are for grades K-8. Our conferences will be early February.
God Bless,
Mrs. McNulty
