Thank you to Penny for being our Student of the Week. Did you know Penny likes to color and she wants to be a doctor! Please take a moment to read about her. Ethan took the ducks home this past weekend. Did you know he took them to the Emoji movie and went to soccer! Thank you Ethan!
We continue to learn about more Saints. We learned about St. Bernadette and how the blessed Mother appeared to her and they prayed the Rosary together. The children learned a new prayer for St. Anthony and have been practicing each day. When you have lost something pray this prayer:
St. Anthony St. Anthony
Please Come around
Something has been lost
and must be found
It really does work I have used it many times!
On Thursday we went on a leaf hunt after reading the story Leaf man. We made a Leaf Man for our classroom and the children made one on theri desks.
We learned about the letter Ss. We read a story about the letter Ss, wrote with rice bowls, white boards, traced letters with colored pencils, wrote in the air, made letters out of toys and watched several videos. We also had a "S" show n' tell. This is our second week of show n' tell and the children are telling us many things about what they brought in! It is great for public speaking! No Show n' tell next week.
We also learned about the number 7 by singing a number 7 song. We reviewed all our number songs as well as review all our numbers 0-7 we learned so far. We counted to 7 by looking at a number line, domino, tally marks, pictures, and ten frame.
We learned more about the story of Thanksgiving and who the Pilgrims and Native Americans were. We talked about our family Thanksgivings and traditions. We will celebrate Thanksgiving in our classroom by dressing up and pretending we are Native Americans and/or Pilgrims. Also, we will be having three different types of pie thanks to the class moms! We will continue to do our Thanksgiving fingerplays about Mr./Mrs. Turkey and Our Turkey is a Big Fat Bird! We all did a GREAT job decorating our turkey feather! Our class turkey is beautiful!
I sent out a form on Wednesday to respond if your child will not be here December 20 for the Christmas Program. We need to know as we are all practicing where we should stand. Our show should last about 20-30 minutes. The children have been practicing their songs already!
God Bless,
Mrs. McNulty
